Man City Confirm New Transfers
Stefan Ortega Moreno just became the latest signing for Manchester City.
On Friday, 1 July, the English Premier League champions confirmed the news via their official website that the 29-year-old goalkeeper had joined their ranks on a three-year deal.
Moreno’s contract with German outfit, Arminia Bielefeld – for whom he chalked up 220 appearances across 11 years – had expired, allowing him to join City on a free transfer.
His arrival closely follows the signing of Borussia Dortmund striker Erland Haaland for €51 million.
The two new players are bound to make a formidable contribution to City’s front and back lines; Ortega even shared some praise – with a cheeky word or two – for Haaland once he secured his spot on Pep Guardiola’s team.
“He is an outstanding player. The body shape, his technique, shooting, headers he has everything,” the highly-rated goalie said, before cheekily adding: “But he didn’t score against me in the Bundesliga!”
